The Fort l’Écluse Via Ferrata in Léaz (Ain) offers a moderate climb with stunning views of the Rhône gorge. The route ascends the steep limestone cliff across ledges and comfortable terraces, ending with a 15 m rope bridge crossing the moat. Access is free; equipment rental covers safety gear return by 6 PM (additional day charged if late).
Via Ferrata is distinct from climbing, featuring artificial aids and a permanent lifeline; it requires specific protective equipment.
Safety gear (helmets, harnesses, shock-absorbing lanyards, locking carabiners) is mandatory and your responsibility.
Liability insurance is strongly recommended. You assume full responsibility for mountain activities and any rescue costs.
Not recommended for children under 12.
5 harnesses available for the 3 PM session; 10 harnesses available at opening (no reservation).
If your shock absorber is deployed, its replacement will be charged.
